A JOURNEY SHAPED BY FAITH, LOSS AND PURPOSE
Leah’s faith journey was influenced early by a college teammate who lived out her faith in a bold and authentic way. Watching Christ lived out daily planted seeds that would later change Leah’s life.
During her college years, that same teammate who first shared Jesus with her unexpectedly passed away at just 21 years old.
In the midst of grief, God stirred something deep within Leah’s heart.
Leaving the funeral, she was reminded of the urgency of the gospel — and the importance of sharing Jesus with the people in our lives while we still have the opportunity.
That moment marked a turning point, igniting a lifelong heart for evangelism and a desire to live with eternal perspective.
Years later, after winning her third Olympic gold medal with Team USA and becoming a young mother with a three-year-old son, Leah recognized how vital it was to have an older, godly woman mentoring her.
Through discipleship, she experienced:
- the truth found in God’s Word
- encouragement to keep her eyes on Jesus
- wisdom for navigating motherhood and marriage
- the transforming power of prayer
During this season, Leah moved from slowly growing in her knowledge of God to fully surrendering her life to Him —choosing to follow Jesus wholeheartedly.

ABOUT LEAH AMICO
Leah has been married to her husband, Tommy Amico, for 27 years. Together they raised three sons, all now young adults. She homeschooled her boys for 13 years, intentionally building both character and faith.
Her journey has also included:
- serving on her church’s women’s prayer team for nearly 20 years
- mentoring women through the local church
- participating in Bible studies and discipleship groups for two decades
- speaking at women’s retreats and conferences
- speaking at mother–daughter events
- being featured in multiple sports devotional Bibles
- serving in prayer and keynote roles at the National Day of Prayer for the past five years
- boldly standing for biblical truth and advocating for the protection of female athletes
Through every season, her desire has remained the same — to glorify God and point others to Jesus Christ.
